Srinagar, May 15 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Saturday witnessed 63 deaths due to Covid-19 while 3,677 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 51,475.
With 63 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 3,090 and 3,677 fresh positive cases reported on Saturday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 240,467. The big jump in the positive cases and the mortality continue to comes at a time when J&K is under tight grip of Carona Curfew since April 29.
Of the exact number of 240,467 cases, 147,462 are from Kashmir division and 93,005 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 3,677 new cases, 1,949 belong to Kashmir division while as 1,728 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 147,462 including 114,265 recoveries and 1,682 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 93,005 including 71,637 recoveries and 1,408 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 51,475 including 31,515 from Kashmir division and 19,960 from Jammu division.
With 4,140 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 185,902 which is 76.30 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 404 from Srinagar, 129 from Baramulla, 262 from Budgam, 390 from Pulwama, 110 from Kupwara, 188 from Anantnag, 147 from Bandipora, 80 from Ganderbal, 160 from Kulgam and 79 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 1,728 from Jammu division include 621 from Jammu, 163 from Udhampur, 250 from Rajouri, 46 from Doda, 137 from Kathua, 145 from Samba, 34 from Kishtwar, 102 from Poonch, 108 from Ramban and 122 from Reasi," officials disclosed.
Out of 63 deaths reported today, 11 died in GMC Jammu, 01 in CD Hosp Jmu, 06 in GMC Rajouri, 01 in GMC Ludhiana, 01 in DH Udhampur, 02 in ASCOMS Jmu, 02 in DH Ramban, 01 in DH Poonch, 02 in SMVNH Katra,01 in MH Akhnoor, 01 in MH Pathankote, 01 in CHC Hiranagar, 01 in CHC Sunderbani, 01 in Aakash Hosp Delhi, 05 in Home/ Brought Dead, 03 in SKIMS JVC Bemina, 03 in SKIMS Soura, 05 in SMHS Sgr, 04 in DH Pulwama, 02 in DH Kulgam, 03 in GMC Anantnag, 01 in CD Hosp Srinagar, 01 in JLNM Sgr, 01 in CHC Kupwara, 01 in SDH Tangmarg, 01 in TH Bijbehara & 01 in DH Bandipora.
As per officials figures, 57,199 positive cases including 666 deaths and 47,654 recoveries are from Srinagar, 17,786 including 220 deaths and 14,044 recoveries are from Baramulla, 15,702 including 11,525 recoveries and 150 deaths are from Budgam, 10,565 including 7,821 recoveries and 135 deaths are from Pulwama, 9,224 including 116 deaths and 7,323 recoveries are from Kupwara, 11,348 including 7,131 recoveries and 135 deaths are from Anantnag, 6,864 cases including 5,917 and 74 deaths are from Bandipora, 6,816 including 5,679 recoveries and 62 deaths are from Ganderbal, 7,532 including 4,065 recoveries and 80 deaths are from Kulgam and 4,426 including 3,106 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 43,597 including 34,911 recoveries and 802 deaths are from Jammu district, 8,650 including 7,029 recoveries and 93 deaths are from Udhampur, 7,839 including 4,452 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Rajouri, 4,605 including 3,701 recoveries and 73 deaths are from Doda, 7,104 including 5,474 recoveries and 92 deaths are from Kathua, 5,502 including 3,473 recoveries and 80 deaths are from Samba, 3,495 including 3,128 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Kishtwar, 4,121 including 2,925 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Poonch, 3,621 including 2,851 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Ramban and 4,471 including 3,693 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 1,956,494 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 72,947 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 51,475 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,710,319 persons have completed surveillance period and 118,663 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 7,884,512 samples are available. Out of 7,884,512 the number of samples tested negative stands at 7,644,045 while as 240,467 have tested positive, among them 51,475 persons are active, 185,902 persons have recovered and 3,090 persons have died—(KNO)
